In The News 06/08 – Jessica to sing US anthem in Pacman-Bradley Fight

Next stop for Jessica Sanchez: the boxing capital of the world – Las Vegas. Jessica will take the spotlight once more when she has been chosen to sing the American national anthem during Pacquiao’s coming fight against Bradley at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on June 9.

Jessica expressed her excitement on her Twitter account, saying ” Singing the American National Anthem @ the Pacquiao fight this Saturday in Vegas! I am soooooooooo ecstatic!! “

Jessica is not new to sporting events, she sang The Star-Spangled Banner in an NFL match between the San Diego Padres and New York Jets in 2008, then again the following year in another San Diego Padres match gainst the Miami Dolphins.

Manny Pacquiao mentioned on his interviews that he is a big fan of Jessica Sanchez and even visited Jessica on her last performance night before the finale. While on the other hand, Jessica expressed her interest to sing the Philippine National Anthem if invited.

Meanwhile, another Filipino-American, 14-year-old Broadway star Kirby Asunto, will be singing the Philippine national anthem. She was personally handpicked by Pacquiao.

On Memorial Day, Jessica was invited to sing the American national anthem at the 2012 PBS National Memorial Day Celebration in Washington D.C.

May 28th Monday was the happiest moments for Jessica Sanchez’s fans because this is the day when their idol asked them if they want to chat with her on UStream, she even obliged to sing songs for them. Jessica was currently in DC when she tweeted her fans inviting them to spend time with her.

Ford returns as the official automotive sponsor of AMERICAN IDOL for their 11th season. AMERICAN IDOL finalists was featured each week in Ford music videos, airing every Thursday nights. This original content, along with candid “making of” segments featuring the contestants, were also available on www.americanidol.com.

On the finale night, Ford awarded a brand-new vehicle to both the runner-up and Season 11 AMERICAN IDOL winner,Phillip and Jessica . They also give keys to FORD cars to their mentors.
